To post a GIF from my android phone to Answermug do I just upload it as an image?

It just seems to show up as a picture with no motion.

Our server saves them as static images. If you want them to move, they have to be hosted elsewhere. You could theoretically hotlink from another site or use something like Photo Bucket to store the image.

I have an iPhone and upload gifs as images. But not all work. Sometimes you have to choose another size or source. I have the most success with the site GIPHY. Theirs seem to work most of the time.

  • Ok I downloaded a GIF from GIPHY to my phone and I'll upload it as an image and see if it works?

  • Nope.
Can I share it directly from GIPHY to Answermug somehow without saving it to my phone first?

You don't need to save it to your phone. Just copy the share link and paste it in images over here.

Are you seeing "TAP and HOLD to copy/paste in a text?"

Do that, hit COPY, then paste it over here.

Same place you post still images. "Insert Images" from drop down menu.

I doubt that will be necessary.
