Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» If there were ever a need for another WILL ROGERS it is now. He told the truth with humor. Folks LOVED him. Why don't we like truth now?
"There are three kinds of men. The one that learns by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence for themselves." ~ Will Rodgers
I guess he moved too far away from the Politically Correct notion that there was plenty of jobs, if the jobless just had the gumption to go and take them.
He was a GREAT guy! Had a way about him that allowed him to chastise people without ticking them off. A great gift. Thank you for your reply JakobA and Happy Sunday! :)
Anyway he is not entirely without heirs: Like in the late show, or Bill Maher:
Problem is most of them are liberals, I doubt it is a liberal conspiracy though. More likely it is a consequence of the old German proverb: "Böse menchen habe keine lieder" (angry people rarely write songs)
The difference is everyone LOVED Will. Bill Maher does have those who don't like him. I think Tina Fey was hysterically good doing her impression of Sara Pallin. I think she may have sunk Sara for any future being taking seriously job. SNL has definitely provided a lot of good-humored poking. Like Alec Baldwin's Trump and the gal who did a killer impression of Sean Spicer. You can't get better than that. But I think they all have their anti-fans too. I don't know that Will Rogers ever ticked off anyone at any time for any reason. He just had that way about him! Thank you for your reply
Because mankind generally rebels against truth. Truth steps on your toes and makes you realize just how skewered you perception really is regarding most things. But why are we concerned with truth? You as a liberal should know that there is no truth. Truth is a relative condition, meaning that it is malleable and conditional.
We aren't raised of the same caliber. Generations today don't seem to care about how they present themselves, the needs and respect of elders or their peers, and think it is all about the money. They don't grasp the concept of communicating through song, dance, and politics and don't take pride in giving a fun, well-educated, well dressed, well-spoken, and how like people desire to be entertained. They say: "Show Me The Money!"
It's after 9 and I must run to work. It's going to be a long day; however, I'm sending you happy vibes and cooling thoughts. It should only by about 97 today according to our weather station and about 115* while I'm at work. Please stay cool, turn on a fan, drink water but also some juice with electrolytes and know I am thinking of you and roasting up here too. Hugs and loves! Love, Merlin
