About four years ago, we drove into a blizzard coming from my niece's college graduation in Virginia to Pennsylvania.  You couldn't see two inches in front of you and I never want to do that again.

LOL ... barely.  My brother-in-law was driving and I wanted us to stop overnight at a motel, but he refused.  I was never so scared in my life.

A typhoon in the Indian Ocean while I was in the Navy. It was kinda fun, sorta like a roller coaster.

No to the first question...I never got seasick. I was one of the few lucky ones. Yes to the second question. We actually had to turn the ship away and went to Kenya, Africa.

Washington D.C. October 15, 1954, Hurricane Hazel... The highest gust recorded at National Airport was 98 mph at 5:05 p.m. on October 15, a record that still stands today.

So many storms, but I think Hurricane Frances was the scariest and most memorable to me. I still remember my family hiding in the living room since there were no windows and it's in the center of the house and all we did was play board games in candle light. The power was cut when a large tree next door split, one half fell on the wires and the other landed on the neighbor's house. It was hard to sleep at night because of all the scary sounds and occasionally a gust of wind would make its way down the chimney and frighten us children.

We must live very close to each other.  In Vero Beach we were in the eye wall all night long.  I think the highest winds were near 120 mph.
