About four years ago, we drove into a blizzard coming from my niece's college graduation in Virginia to Pennsylvania. You couldn't see two inches in front of you and I never want to do that again.
Yikes. Ive never been in a blizzard before. That must have been scary. Did you make it alive? ;+

No to the first question...I never got seasick. I was one of the few lucky ones. Yes to the second question. We actually had to turn the ship away and went to Kenya, Africa.
Washington D.C. October 15, 1954, Hurricane Hazel... The highest gust recorded at National Airport was 98 mph at 5:05 p.m. on October 15, a record that still stands today.
So many storms, but I think Hurricane Frances was the scariest and most memorable to me. I still remember my family hiding in the living room since there were no windows and it's in the center of the house and all we did was play board games in candle light. The power was cut when a large tree next door split, one half fell on the wires and the other landed on the neighbor's house. It was hard to sleep at night because of all the scary sounds and occasionally a gust of wind would make its way down the chimney and frighten us children.
