There's another presidential election in 4 years.
There's a Congressional election in 2 year (look what happened to Obama's policy direction after 2010).
Congress could, in principle, impeach whomever is elected from day 1 for any reason (Yes, the Constitution says "high crimes and misdemeanors, but ultimately if 2/3rds of Congress wants the President out, there's nothing to stop them).
The USA survived James Buchannan (distant relative of mine!), Warren Harding, and George W. Bush. There's no reason to think our current candidates will be significantly worse than those past luminaries.
Well, we are responsible for what we do with US. I cannot really blame Trump on me. But I see where you are coming from. As a unit in this country we are all responsible for keeping up on how things are run and who is doing the running. By the time the President's chair is up for a vote, we should have had all our ducks in place as far as who is running things in our own state at least. I have not done so, I admit. I hate the politicians in Arizona and it is like this election. Who is the least obnoxious as far as a candidate. I have the option of voting for some unknown for Senatorial leadership in Arizona or McCain. Can you imagine?
McCain is still trying to keep his foot in the door and have some power in the White House on some level. Now he is announcing strict border control with police arming the entire Mexican border. At least the part he controls. Or thinks he controls.
I bet this jerk gets re-elected too. That is the mentality of Arizona. A bunch of old, white dinosaurs who still control everything in this state, and they are probably wetting their pants in glee over his proposal. I won't be surprised if he makes it.
I wonder if the 2 former President Harrisons are related to me. I HOPE not.
