Why is Facebook in so much trouble for doing business with Russia? Are US company owners supposed to vet every customer?.

Now when customers paid in rubles Facebook should have had a clue the source was Russian. But so what? US companies are not forbidden from doing business with foreign countries. So Russia's goal was to sway an election. They set up fake accounts and bought ads that were designed to changed people's minds about Hillary Clinton. People set up fake accounts all the time and prepare political ads that are designed to harm their competitors and those ads are filled with lies. It is the American way. You have a product to sell. Sell it any way you can. That's how you rake in big bucks. Don't ask questions. I don't think Facebook wittingly colluded with hostile  Russian forces to change the outcome of the 2016 prez election. As of July 2017 the US exported $3 billion, 669 million worth of goods to  Russia and the US imported 9 billion, 706.7 million goods from Russia. Are all those customers vetted?
