Politics is not for wimps. You can bust your a** and work your heart out for years and if you screw up bigtime ONCE it's all erased as it if it never existed. Why would any rational person be a Pol?

Why? Because they can and do get away with almost anything they do in the past.  Sadly, we are rarely shocked when something comes out.

That's the sad  truth.  Pols are so seldom held accountable for anything and when/if they are  the excuses are endless. Take Newt Gingrich for an example. He was drummed out of the Speaker of the House job by his colleagues years ago. Yet here he is today and was on a short list  for the Trump veep slot! Ain't it amazing? Did he redeem himself or did he just count on  the short attention span/memory of  Americans?  Thank you for your reply PeaPod!  Are some folks just unshockable?
