Everything dies eventually. Mountains erode, seas dry up, land sinks beneath the tide. There is no reason to think anything wrought by the imperfect hand of man will be any different given the fullness of time. Societies will rise and fall, as this one will inevitably, usually under the weight of their accumulated failures.

I personally feel that the "Golden Age" of this America, if there ever was one, is passing away.

Entropy. From which there is no escape. If your view that any Golden Age America might have enjoyed is passing away is true can it be resuscitated? Or once gone it will never be brought back from the dead, resurrected? Thank you for your thoughtful reply Don B. :)

Anything is possible. The Union emerged stronger after the Civil War, so who can say? I haven't given up all hope, I have grandkids.

Bless your heart. I understand. I don't have grandkids. At least not by bloodline. But I can imagine your hopes for them. Thank you for your reply Don. I do believe in miracles. Not necessarily of a Godly origin. Maybe our world is 10-dimensional. We can only access 3 of them and maybe all the answers to all the questions/mysteries/miracles reside in those other 7. Maybe one day we will have evolved enough to be able to access them. Maybe not. But you can't know what you don't know which means anything is possible. Thank you for your reply.
