TUESDAY WAS A GREAT DAY IN AMERICA. Think today can be great too? What would today's great be specifically?

The zillionith attempt at the GOP Repeal/Replace of the AHCA died its usual death. No surprise there!

Luther Strange, the Trump-backed Alabama Pol, lost big time to Roy Moore! Congrats to Alabamans for thinking for themselves. Trump might fire all of you though. Just watch your backs.

From reading a little bit on Moore....I like him. Sounds like Strange was a good guy and he supported Trump's agenda. And from what I can see, Moore also supports Trump's agenda...so it was a win win.
I know in a strong 2nd amendment state any candidate who shows you his pistol to show his position on gun roghts is gonna be hard to beat. I did not realize this is the judge who was removed from the bench for refusal to remove the 10 commandments from the courthouse.
I likely would have voted for Moore as well.  Moore was also endorsed by Hannity,  Laura Ingram, and other conservative talk radio hosts...I am sure it weighed in a lot as well.

I sure appreciate this informative and thoughtful reply honey. I do. So why exactly was it that Trump didn't support Moore instead of Strange to begin with? I know that Bannon supported Moore and it looked as though Trump and Bannon were on opposite ends of it. I do know that at some point Trump kinda covered his butt by saying nice things about Moore. I just didn't get the point of the original endorsement. ((hugs)) I learned a lot from your posting that I did not know. How can I not appreciate that? Trump endorsed Strange because Strange supported Trump without Trump having to do things to get his support. And it sounds like  the establishment is worried that Moore may have a harder time in the general election than Strange would....again sounds like establishment vs anti-establishment.

So it was basically because Strange supported Trump early on and this was payback in a good way? I see. Thanks m2c.  Which one is establishment? Moore? Strange would be the "Maverick"? I know there will be another election pitting Dem against Republican in the general election so the thought was that Strange might have done better against his opponent? I see. Well time will tell. :)

Strange was considered the establishment  as his campaign was heavily financed by the RNC which tied him closely to McConnell.

Thanks. So then do you think other "insurgents"/"mavericks"/"anti-establishment pols are going to run in 2018? Just to protest the establishment? Could it get to be a really bad internal war among Republicans? If so that doesn't sound so good.
