You cannot possibly respect a symbol and a country if you disrespect the people in it. A country IS THE PEOPLE. Isn't it?

  • Wrong again as usual. You can respect a symbol and a country and not give a whit for the people. Case in point, the NFL. I love the country, I love sports and I love the game of football. However, I can live a long time without the self righteous thugs and spoiled brats of the NFL. I used to be one of their biggest fans, but no longer.

  • I get your point and kinda agree, but the answer is no based on word choice.

    People make a a nation.  A country is made up of political borders and Governing laws.   So to be pendantic yes one can love a country and hate a nation of people that live in it.
