I know there are height requirements for certain rides at amusement parks. Are there height requirements for certain jobs? Why?

ALLEGEDLY when possibly considering Bob Corker for  some cabinet post (when they were friends/pals/ buds) da prez said he was too short. I think he is 5' 7". How does height matter to a cabinet position other than the optics? How sane is it to focus on optics rather than ability/talent/intelligence/experience?
