Senator Bob Corker really doesn't pull any punches. Now he says Trump has "castrated" Rex Tillerson. Do you agree?
If YOU were Tillerson would you react to that or let is pass without comment? Because Corker is a Republican I don't understand exactly WHY he coming on and speaking out with such drama. What do you think his motive might be?
I think Tillerson has been undercut and I'm not sure how effective he can be if those with whom he's negotiating think he doesn't have the backing of the president. Corker has decided not to run for re-election. As a result, he can speak his mind without having to worry that it will cost him politically. I also think Corker has expressed things that other Republicans are thinking but are too afraid to say publicly.
Of course he has nothing to lose. Isn't it sad and disappointing that saying what you think can cost your career? But that's the kind of world in which we live..at least in the good old US of A! Thank you for your reply Spunky! :)
It is sad and very disappointing that so many politicians don't have the gumption to stand up and speak out when they know something is very wrong and not good for the country.
I agree. Corker isn't running for re-election and McCain is dying of brain cancer. They have nothing to lose. What is wrong with the others besides cowardly and ugly fear of reprisal? What happened to honor,integrity,courage? Rhetorical question I guess. Thank you for your reply Spunky! :)
Corker must have some serious coin on the line with that Iran deal, maybe even his life . . . Wouldn't be surprised if he becomes the target of a "terrorist" attack if he doesn't manage to get Trump's decision to abandon that abysmal mess reversed . . .
