    I have never heard of him, but I believe Dr. Seuss books are still relevant.

    She wrote great books, which helped the young learn to read, and books for older children that kept us entertained, Unfortunately parents no longer read to the kids, rather sit them in front of the TV and ignore them. No books are as significant now as they were in the past.

    Famous Five author, right? I only got them because a friend told me they were cool. I always preferred to watch movies.

    Never heard of her. 

    That may be because my kids rapidly learned to read, tested as reading at a college level by the time they were 5-years old (scared the he** out of us too . . . ) The probably just skipped her materials.
