On previous posts in the long ago I have admitted I am unable to separate a person's talent from his/her character. Some can do so. Why?

I know that talent/ability/accomplishment isn't predicated on good character. We have many examples of it. I guess I just expect good character to be a component of anything good and talent/ability is a good thing. I know. Naive as he**!  :( Oy vey. :(
