  • I would think it is dependent on caring. If you truly do not care about them, how could you have contempt?  Indifferent would be feeling nothing I think.

    I think so too except sometimes a person for whom I have nothing BUT contempt becomes so predictably boring and repetitive I lose interest and am indifferent. I guess it depends on the mood of the person feeling one or the other or both.
