    Yes.  But people here at the office see me as aloof because I try to be businesslike and efficient rather than complain and dish the dirt and hash over pop culture and the latest trends with them.

    At work I think being professional is ALWAYS best. When I worked I was cordial but I did not invite gossip. I did not invite small talk. I always had tons of work to do and when my door was closed NO ONE bothered me. It meant I was not available unless it was an emergency. You have to respect boundaries. Everyone is getting paid to do the job for which he/she was hired. It can be done in a cordial way without going overboard.   Did I ever have good friends at work? Yes. But they always respected the way I worked. At work was one thing. Outside of work was entirely different. We owed it to our employer to do the best job we could. Thank you for your reply officegirl and Happy Tuesday! :) I think we would have made good co-workers.

    I have had plenty of feedback that indicates that I am considered good company. Those who don't think so are polite enough not to tell me.
