I'm getting an oil painting framed. Would have cost  $303! Cost to me? $98.85(includes 8.75% tax of $7.95). So what great bargains have you found in your neck of the woods?

I scored some really cool Keds Converse in a really weird rusty orange color for $10 yesterday.   I might just post them later.  They are wonderfully tacky!

Like these? (By the way, Keds and Converse are different companies.)

I'm still drinking my coffee and I didn't look that closely.  Thank you for making me feel like an idiot.  No hair pie for you. lol.

The color is close.  I think they are Converse but they aren't high tops.  I'll take a pic later today or tomorrow and post it as part of a question.

We used to wear them as children. They were five bucks a pair. Red-ball Jets were also a favorite. I think I'll get a pair of the above.

Good for you Harry! That's great! Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday! :) Your Keds Converse footwear is just like some movies that start off goofy/tacky and become cult classics! Little Shop of Horrors? :)

You do realize at that price, it's probably not 100% ground beef. :-O

It's 80/20 and tastes good. I like mine with extra steroids and antibiotics.

Well here's the skinny on THAT Ele. We only eat grass-fed organic beef. Why you ask? Because I read a report(maybe it was an article in  Consumer Reports. I don't recall) wherein tests were done on ALL types of ground beef and the only ground beef WITHOUT FECAL MATTER was the grass-fed organic.  For what it's worth. SIGH. That is a great price though. Organic grass-fed beef usually costs $5.98 a lb. We don't eat it often  but after reading that report I just can't bring myself to buy any other kind. Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday! TMI? :(

When I was a young sailor in the 70s, grass fed beef was called grade 'good' and it was half the price of 'choice'. It was excellent and we ate steaks twice a week.

Two recent bargains - kids' jackets that were originally $40 were on sale for $20 at Target two weeks ago.  The second was Norton's Antivirus program that they wanted me to renew for $80+.  I told them I could buy the program at a big box store for $19.99 and saw no reason to renew at that high price, so they dropped the cost to $29.00 and we called it a day.  Norton did the same thing last year and I got them to lower the price then, too.  Do they really think we're that dumb?

Funny coinkydink Spunky. Many years ago I was interviewed for a job in Santa Monica, California. Yep. Norton! I didn't get the job. It was for an accountant position and I remember asking some questions that I think made the interviewer uneasy. There were operating on a cash basis and I was used to the accrual method. That could have worked against me but I told the interviewer that maybe cash basis wasn't the best choice but you know I had to say what I thought. Small world. That was decades ago though. I don't know if the office is still in Santa Monica. As for your renewal  I think "they" should have matched the box store price. After all it was a renewal. So you were an existing customer. To show their appreciation they could have gone the extra $10. But $29 is way lots loads better than  $80+ any day of the week. 50% off kids jackets is very good. Gosh the kids  outgrow them so quickly! Thank you for your reply Spunky! I wonder what after-Christmas sales will be like? I have my eye on a Dutch Oven. I have one but sometimes I wish I had  two . I saw a nice one at the store but just want to hold on a bit longer. If I see it on sale for substantially less and already bought one I would not be a happy camper! :) This post was edited by RosieG at December 3, 2017 10:12 AM MST

It really is a small world, isn't it?  Norton explained to me that stores like Costco and BJs buy in such bulk that they get a very low price so they can sell it at a low cost as a loss leader.  Fortunately, my subscription runs out in December which is when the stores have their sales, so I'm able to use their pricing as a negotiating tool.  Yes, kids do outgrow them in one season so I'm happy to have gotten a 50% discount on th4e jackets.  As for your Dutch oven, I'm sure there will be lots of sales after the holidays, but I recently got a coupon in the newspaper for 20% off one item at Bed, Bath and Beyond which can be used in-store or online.  You might check to see if you can get a coupon on line.

    Well, you might enjoy this.

Keith Olbermann wrote a book called Trump is a Fu*king Idiot about how his impeachment is inevitable due to all the many atrocities he has committed that Olberman lists.

It was about 16 dollars and I got it for 99 cents on Amazon Prime.

It's coming December 6 I think.  I know swearing bothers you, but I'm sure you understand Keith's reason for the blast here.
