What does it say about the modern day Republican party that their Presidential nominee is a puppet of Vladimir Putin and is receiving campaign support from the Kremlin?

Vladimir Putin's lieutenant Paul Manafort recognized Trump's ego and desire to strike back at the government after being humiliated at several White House correspondent's dinners, and Putin wanted to use Trump's ego to urge him to run for President, and to have a puppet in the White House who would not object to Putin's desires to effectively dismantle NATO by annexing large sections of Western Europe.
