    I have known several people who were well aware that their mental capacity was declining. Perhaps it has to do with how self-aware a person has been through out life.

    Yes, they are aware _ I have a friend suffering from Alzheimer's Syndrome, and he told me the diagnosis himself.

    Oh goodness. Condolences to you and your friend Durdle. So at the early stages there is awareness of it. SIGH.  That must be an incredibly difficult realization for such folks. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday!  :)
