Forensic evidence can prove guilt or innocence providing it wasn't tampered with/adulterated. How do we know it wasn't? Who validates it?

Who verifies the verifier? Checks out the results to make they are valid based on the evidence? How many lab tests have been found to have been wrong either through incompetence or purposely lying about it? Impossible to know.  SIGH.
