How close to true reality is memory? Is it ever spot-on accurate or is it always faint around the edges...not quite clear?

    If four people witness the same event together, then each tells you about it separately, their recounts will likely differ greatly.  That does not necessarily mean that each has not recalled it correctly, but that they filtered it through their own biases, life experiences, fears, etc. and that they did not recount the event in its entirety.
