    How about when there was a shutdown in 2013? Was it as big a catastrophe then? I had several friends out of work for several weeks.

    Maybe you should call your Dem Sen and Rep and tell them to vote to continue to fund the government and not play politics with people's lives.

    Nope, I did not.....I also did not complain about the shut down...I am not complaining now, either. CHIPS was not effected then either. I know my Rep Sen and Rep will vote to fund the government....what my Dem Sen will do will depend on what Chuck tells her to do. I have contacted her plenty amd usually get a form email back explaining that she is voting for the opposite position...waste of my time normally.     And it's been funded till later, no shut down. They threaten this all the time and hardly ever actually do it.

    The latest trend is a bit frightening.  I really do worry for a lot of people that stand to lose the ability to survive.

    Rightly so PeaPod. It is a disaster and will become more so next year when Paul Ryan will set his sights on eliminating "entitlements" like Medicaid/Medicare/Social Security. SIGH. Thank you for your reply and Happy Friday! :)

    Rosie, it will be a very bad day indeed if we empty the Medicaid roster.  That will be the first to be attacked.  Most people on that have little voice and too many people misunderstand who is on Medicaid.  It's not just welfare.  It's the disabled like my son who cannot work and likely will never be able to.  I have always been grateful that he has medical care anyway.  It doesn't solve all the stress and heartache my family has been through in getting him all his needs, but it sure helps.  

    My daughter is a waitress and had medical insurance for the first time in years with Obamacare.  It was very affordable for her, being that her income was low.  Now she is scared to death on what she will be able to get.  Medicaid had been expanded to cover people that would not otherwise be qualified for it.

    It's scary as a mom to watch my own struggle.  It's only going to get worse.  

    Glad there are plenty of people that are happy with people like my kids getting cut.

    Yeh...it's personal with me.  It isn't just a blind rage at the president.  It's a whole attitude towards the working poor and even the middle class.
