Discussion»Statements»Rosie's Corner» I think destroying beauty promiscuously/wantonly is unconscionable. We need to nurture not destroy what there is of it. Why don't we?
We often destroy, or alter, natural beauty in a misguided attempt at conservation/preservation. Yellowstone is one example where our efforts to "preserve" the natural beauty pretty radically altered the natural order of things. Ironically, perhaps, wildfire prevention alters the natural order, too. Some trees, those with serotinous cones, require fire to reproduce and thrive, from the sequoias of the Sierra Nevadas to the jack pines of the Huron National Forest here in Michigan, fire is necessary.

I read something a few years ago about the super wild fires we are experiencing. It stated that because we didn't allow natural wild fires to do their job, the undergrowth built up and that's what's causing the super fires. I guess Smokey got it all wrong.
Please define the words: promiscuously. wantonly, unconscionable and beauty :-))

You want me to define what those words mean to me? That is completely utterly absolutely irrelevant. Whatever the words mean to you is what you should respond to JakobA. I thought by now you would surely understand my questions. I don't provide you with what I think so you can respond to that. I'm interested in what YOU think absent any input/touting/suggestion from me. So either answer the question using the definitions of those words you embrace or don't. SIGH. Much graffiti is QUITE BEAUTIFUL to me. So what? That is neither here nor there. Thank you for your reply and the graphic and Happy Sunday! :)
I don’t really understand the question but in the summer I sometimes see a dog poo with lots of flies on it. The sun reflects off their wings and creates a green colour that really is beautiful. Don’t get too close though or they leave the poo destroying the beauty
