What do you look for in shopping for a town to live? I'm shopping for one.

Would like a smaller town, but not too far form a city. It has to be safe, no flooding or fires.

    1) Within a hundred and fifty miles of a major metro (but no closer).

    2) A population no greater than 25K

    3) A thriving interest in the humanities/fine arts

    4) A balanced ratio of jobs to labor force

    5) Civic-minded and friendly citizens.

    6) A libertarian or Christian libertarian ethos.
