He did win, and whether you like/accept that fact or not, he is your president, too.

No, he's only a lousy placeholder until the 2020.

If one is a citizen of the US, he is their president.

If you can disown your parents, you can do the same with the president.

Feel free to renounce your citizenship.

That statement is correct but has nothing to do with disowning the president.

You can pretend whatever you choose, but you cannot simply wish reality changed.

It's no more pretending than couples saying they're BOTH pregnant. Lol

An idiotic saying as only the woman is actually pregnant, though both are expecting a child.

Saying Trump isn't your president if you are a US citizen is simply not factual.  You may not have voted for him, you may hate him...but if you are a citizen, he is your president.  Again, you are certainly free to renounce your citizenship. Certainly enough to destroy much of our heritage.

Alexis de Tocqueville wrote of the necessity of having an informed electorate in a democracy.

(And another comment by him: )

A democratic government is the only one in which those who vote for a tax can escape the obligation to pay it. (Alexis de Tocqueville)

Thank you for your reply and the helpful link tom. I liked your reply about donjohn just being a placeholder. Kinda like a placemat.  What he has already destroyed is bad enough but he has only just begun. Can we get of it back or once destroyed it's forever gone? :(

  • As long as he legitimately occupies 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in the District of Columbia, he is President of the U.S. in every definition and description of the office. This was the result of a legitimate election conducted under the provisions of the U.S. Constitution. If individuals want to disavow that reality, they are welcome to do so. That doesn't change the fact that the man will continue to exercise the powers and authority of the office. This is the difference between the rule of law and the rule of anarchy. I prefer the former, the latter cannot be tolerated as it would require us to change the law about twice a week or every time someone doesn't get their way in the system.
