A noun that is pretty much known and understood by everyone.
Oxymoronic---an adjective; and to call someones point of view oymoronic requires perhaps too much work for the listener to understand the two terms that are composing the quality.
(E.g. "She's so oxymoronic."----Response, "Well OK, but in what way?")
Interestingly, I had to add oxymoronic to the dictionary here; but it already recognized oxymoron.
And Interesting also about oxymoronic---Used Rarely. oxymoronic is in the lower 50% of commonly used words in the Collins dictionary
My goodness, I did go a tad off the tracks, didn't I?
Giant shrimp comes to mind.
Frankly, I tend to avoid using them in general; so if we hadn't had shrimp cocktail and shrimp scampi over the weekend, I'm not sure I could have posted one.
That's a good one though. Shrimp scampi all garlicky good is something we have often. I saw some GIANT SHRIMP in the grocery store that I was tempted to buy but didn't...yet. $12.95/lb but every once in awhile we go all extravagant foodwise. It's my one real vice. I'm not a shopaholic for anything EXCEPT I love to go to the market and explore the aisles which are always filled with so many possibilities! I'm happy as a clam at high tide and I can feel puny and enervated but once I step inside a market I change into this happy young kid who bounces as she walks. Seriously. I only bounce if the aisle is clear of others. I think it is unseemly for an 80-year-dame to bounce in front of strangers so I try to put a lid on it! How about President Trump? Ultimate oxymoronic moron. I mean Tillerson even called him a moron! Thank you for your reply tom! :)
