Have you been spending time in Las Vegas Rosie of late?  Strange question.  But will try to answer.

The lounge act would be technically classified as "talent" whether or not they were as talented or as polished or as famous as the regular acts playing the main rooms.  And I guess you would find just as many "dunks" in the main rooms as in the lounges but they would be the high-rolling "dunks".  And I'm thinking that being "low-brow" would not be much of a hindrance because how "high-brow" are the main room audiences anyway?  And I have heard many a lounge act that was better than those playing the big rooms.  If they tank then they won't be asked back but I would have to admire them anyway for their hopes, dreams, and ambition and confidence.  Who knows but one day they may find a main room or a substantial audience for themselves?  The point is they are out there trying and working to better themselves.
