Yup.  Dean Martin's voice knocks my socks off, but I would rather sound like Patsy Cline.

Interesting choice. My Jim MET Dean many years ago.  A mutual friend invited Jim to join her at Dean's  home for a party his wife gave. They chatted and talked like old buddies for a few hours. Jim said that Dean was the most down-to-earth "ordinary" guy you'd ever want to meet. Nothing pretentious or hoity toity about him at all. So I say your choice is swell. Thank you for your reply B and Happy Tuesday to thee. Also Happy New Year! :)

Cool, I can picture him as an easy-going guy.  :)

    Happy New Year, Rosie!

He was! It was years before Jim and I met but I'm so happy he had that experience and shared it with me. Of course when Dean's son died in that plane crash Dean withdrew from life and mourned the loss and was never the same again.  So sad. Thank you for your reply Bozette and also thanks for the Happy Year. I think everyone could use a better 2018 ! :)

That is sad.  I watched my folks deal with that.

That is one thing we can agree on, Rosie.  :)

I have an idea there are many more than just one. We just have to look for them and not stop at the one thing about which we can never agree. I'm game. Are thee? Thank you for your reply B

Ya wanna keep the thread going sweetie? Or should I just go away after you tell me which? I once had a thread going for days and days and days just like this. We kept saying goodbye to each other. I'm not sure it was worthwhile. I promise whatever you say will be the last word here UNLESS you indicate otherwise. Okey dokey?

Male voices gotta go with James Earl Jones.
    Female voices Trisha Yearwood.

Or Sean Connery or Richard Burton guywise. I'd like Barbra Streisand's singing voice and either Maya Angelou or Barbara Jordan's speaking voice. Barbara Jordan was a Texas Pol many years ago and I adored her. Thank you for your reply m2c and Happy Tuesday to thee. So how is your New Year stacking up so far? So good?

Glad to hear it. A new year awaits. What will we do with it? I hope not the same as last year. Been there done that and actually it was boring as he** for the most part. Hope this year isn't! Boring gets tiresomely tedious after awhile. Thank you for your reply m2c! :)

I love James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman for narration.

Freeman's voice is good but not quite as deep as Jones'.

Jones' is deeper, and better in some narrations, while Freeman's works better in others, imo.

  • Nope.
My voice is one of the few things I'm proud of.

I love many different kinds of singers.
Examples include Kate Bush, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Yma Sumac, Batzorig Vaanchig, Kiri te Kanawa, Luciano Parvarotti, Lorena McKennet and mnay others This post was edited by Benedict Arnold at January 3, 2018 7:41 AM MST

Gosh this is a first. Meeting someone who is very content with the way things are and doesn't want an upgrade. The first time I heard my voice was on a recording that we all made in school. I was 14. I cannot tell you how disappointed I was in it. It sounded like the voice of a little girl. Thin and wispy with nothing outstanding  or special about it all. It was very ordinary. Thank you for your reply Hartfire. I'm intrigued. Does your voice sound like anyone's I'd recognize?
