The term is objective. I like to clean (not just dust) the baseboards and doors/trim at least once a year. I don't feel a need to clean out closets that are neat. Therefore, I keep mine neat. ;) Drawers kind of the same thing....as needed. My hard floors and carpets get Roomba'd twice a week. I use the large vacuum on the stairs and will on the carpets too probably monthly. I just bought the two little robot vacs during the holidays. They are fun and very much like pets that entertain you but you don't have to feed. I keep things dusted. I only oil the furniture about twice or three times a year. I don't have much; I bought leather stuff and minimum on the accent pieces. I dust the top of the windows and corners with a swiffer thing about once a quarter. The inside of my windows get cleaned about twice a year. The outside is done by the HOA. We leave our shoes at the door. I haven't yet had my carpet cleaned but historically I did it about once a year. I don't get them dirty. No shoes and no pets and weekly vacuuming keeps them clean. They are only in the bedrooms and stairs. Downstairs is hard flooring.
The thing people seem to not clean is around their light switches. I am very careful to never touch the wall but busy families with children do and it always shows. So far I have kept myself from bringing it to their attention.
