Does the illusion of unity and the celebration of symbolic gains do a disservice to those beguiled?

I think they know they are in a bubble of their own making.  I think they know that their Emperor has no clothes on, but what they do in reaction to anyone trying to burst that bubble, is get angry at the burster.

They don't think twice about being lied to.  They love the lie.  They hate the rude awakeners.

The ones running that show don't give a damn.
