Politics/religion loom large and seem to be a matter of life or death. They aren't. They are irreleant when tragedy strikes. Aren't they?

Earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, fires, mudslides, avalanches, Tsunamis. Loss of life. Does anyone care what political party or  religion you embrace when death is at your doorstep? Why can't we remember what is REALLY essential and stop acting as if it is the political party or the religious belief that defines us. They aren't. They don't matter at all when you are trying to pick up the pieces of your life...trying to just survive. SIGH. Too soon old. Too late schmart. :(
