Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Betty. But her character is always some airheaded bimbo. So, I don't see the humor at all. I see Sara Palin all over again. Dumb women characters are funny, but not admirable.
Different strokes Sharon. Of the Golden Girls she was the most open, honest, innocent and kind. If you want shrewd and calculating that's what she was on the Mary Tyler Moore Show as Betty Sue or whatever her name was. Early on in her career she started in the Los Angeles market. She had a show called Life with Betty or something like that. She was adorable and in her 20's. She had a very good marriage to Allen Ludden whom she adored. They were both on the same quiz show and her wit sparkled. She has been a lifelong advocate for animals. She is not the characters she depicts. After her husband died she picked up the pieces of her life and moved on and has distinguished herself in everything she has ever done. I don't remember anything negative ever said or written about. No gossip. No scandal. No feuds. She may be a female Will Rogers. She loves everyone and everyone loves her. Having a witty intelligent KIND and HONEST person as press secretary would be refreshing. Someone who respects the media and treats them politely. I salute her.
You're right although she always says what she thinks and maybe that's not such a good idea. But she'd be 100% honest for sure and that would be a very refreshing change from what we have today. Thank you for your reply PeaPod and Happy Wednesday to you m'dear! :)
