Public health problem. The arms race to get your attention via social media. Rewires the brain. Is addictive. True or poohpooh?

Some techs who created social media sources are now alarmed at the dangers of the technology they created . Social media distorts reality. Fake accounts and phony bots spread lies that people don't realize ARE LIES and they buy it and then spread it. It is addictive and damaging especially to children. These techs who are raising the alarm are whistleblowers. One said that 50 people in silicon valley control over 2 billion people's involvement in Facebook, Twitter, Google and other social media. Are you concerned at all that your entire family may be addicted to it and shaped by it?  Can you give it up at any time? Have you tried? Why?

Well on here I get the chance to express myself where in real life no one would listen to me besides my husband.  Not sure what an "arms race" had to do with it but that was going on when I was born in the 1950s which was long before the net.  Each one of us must decide what is the truth for us - that is part of our responsibility as free people.  We have the right to give up that freedom but once we do so it is gone.
