Chutzpa* is Yiddish. The donjohn is full of it. His ancestral bloodlines must be YIDDISH/Jewish! Where else could he get SO MUCH of it?

*Chutzpa

Unmitigated effrontery or impudence. Gall.

No matter how you spell it. Chutspah. Hutzpa. Hutspah.

  • Here's another word to add to your Yiddish vocabulary: Kvetch: Chronic whining and complaining.

I KVETCH 24/7 and become VERKLEMPT sometimes and when I am I OY VEY  quite a lot. I am of Armenian descent so I relate with the Jewish People more than any other ethnic group. They lost 6 million people at the hands of the Nazis while we Armenians lost 1.5 million people at the hands of the Turks. The Jewish people died in gas ovens or worse. The Armenians died on death marches or worse. So you see m'dear I have an affinity and I regularly show it. I also LOVE matzo balls, chopped liver, knishes, half-sour pickles, and the fabulous sandwiches for which Jewish Delis are known far and wide. Locally in Los Angeles the spot to go was CANTER's. Haven't been there in decades so I don't know if it is still there. It was the favorite afterwards place to go.  After a movie or a concert there'd we'd be eating contentedly. So you see I come by my kvetching organically. Do you kvetch or just comment on those who do? Inquiring minds wanna know these things for future reference. Thank you for your response. I take no offense to whatever you may be implying. We Jews/Armenians are used to it and it rolls right off our shoulders. Tough. Indestructible. Intractable. We move forward. We are survivors. We shall overcome!  :) This post was edited by RosieG at February 11, 2018 5:26 AM MST
