Look up "who invented money" and you get a very detailed tapestry that is quite complex. How important is money SOCIALLY? Why?

I know it is a medium of exchange. We exchange it for things we want/need. That's the mechanical part. What are the other parts? The admiration/respect having a lot of it brings to those who have and the contempt lack of brings by those who have of those who haven't.
