Do you try to keep up with the fastast runner/get fatigued/drop out or go at your own pace so you can finish the race? Why?

Is finishing second or third or last a disgrace? Isn't finishing what counts no matter how long it takes?

Haha you would not find me running any races! I only jog early A.M.s because I think it is good exercise for me.

I am not talking about racing og literally. It is figurative. Each day of your life you "run a race". At school, on  the job, at home. Do you try to adjust yourself according to what other people do even if you can't keep up with them  or are you happy doing things at your own pace and within your own abilities even if it is less efficient less productive less successful? Do you compare your abilities to the abilities others have and try to copy them?  Do you feel "inferior" when others are better than you are at something or are you fine with it because you KNOW you are going to be better at things they aren't. It all balances out.  Thank you for your reply and Happy Sunday! :)

Thank you. I agree with tom Jackson - don't look at life as a "race".  Just do the best I can every day and if other people deign to think they need to beat me in some kind of race then that is their business. I've learned to be pretty good at some things and though I know I am not as good or smart or productive as some people I think I do OK for myself.  I can learn from other people but what I learn I have to adapt to myself for it to do me any good.  I don't have to be "the best" at anything and I know I'm not so I just be myself. Which has done me pretty well at work and in life!

If others are trying to do what I am doing, a race exists only in their minds---if it exists at all.

I am not a fan of competition for myself. Never have been. It often brings out the worst in people. I have never been interested in being "better than" anyone else at anything. I do like to get better than I was at things. I am the only competition I have tom. I cannot remember ever being jealous or envious of anyone for any reason. I avoid situations where I could be pitted against others. It is just not my cuppa tea. Of course I do admire Olympic Athletes who shine. Competition is what drives then. I could never be that but I do admire those who excel. Just not for me. Thank you for your reply!  :)

I try to stay employed and pay my bills.  Unfortunately that takes about all the steam I got left.

I don't engage in competition Sharon. Not my cuppa tea. I only am interested in competing with me. That's it! Thank you for your reply! Very cute little duck?
