    I beg to differ. I admit I've only seem part of the movie, but the part I saw looked really hokey. I can't imagine tolerating a whole film's worth of it.

    My recollection of the movie is the characters behaved in the same stiff melodramatic style as the Adam West/Burt Ward "Batman" TV series.

    That can work if done correctly (it's the basis of most of the humor in "Airplane"), but it didn't work for me in the Dick Tracy film.

    "Airplane" was crap. It was supposed to be a comedy, wasn't it? Well, it wasn't funny.

    If you didn't find Airplane funny, you have no soul...;-D...

    I have more soul than lots of people, OS, I just thought that particular movie was about as funny as a real-life plane crash. It really annoys me when an unfunny piece of crap like that is promoted as a "comedy", and besides, it defies the Trades Description Act.

    Look, OS, I am not going to carry on arguing about this. You were the one who mentioned "Airplane" in the first place, and it's on the thread attached to my answer. Your comments are no more funny than that stupid movie.

    End of conversation.

    @Andy B -- It's OK. I was just teasing you.

    If you didn't get "Airplane", you didn't get "Airplane." Many people find The Three Stooges to be the height of hilarity, and I can't stand them. Senses of humor differ.

    Maybe you and I will agree on something else.

    Yep, that was one of my favorite movies back in the day. I saw it at the theater a couple of times and I have the DVD. They were supposed to do some sequels, but sadly there was seriesof legal over rights negotiations or something. The closest thing to a sequel was a couple novels. Such a sin too because that movie was awesome.

    As far as I know, OS, the only thing you and I agree on is that we both like animals. I think the line draws there.
