Many in the party know the risk. They would have to be very obtuse not to see it. They don't care. They say it is all about the Supreme  Court and electing the  "right" judges.  They don't mind risking the country and putting it in the hands of a mental incompetent. Talk about suicide bombers among terrorists. This is a suicide move to gain power/control. At what price?

  • Wrong again my dear. There is desperation on the part of the GOP, but it's to lose, not to win. GOP office holders have long been content with the old status quo. That was where the trouble began. The reason there is warfare within the ranks, is because a large contingent of the GOP was not  happy over the "go along and get along approach of the GOP's office holders. Trust me when I say that it's the insurgents who want to win and the comfortable, compromising group that is frantically trying to lose the presidency to save themselves. The destruction of the GOP will be complete in November and the Clintons never had it so good. Two houses of Congress in the bag and the GOP survivors leading the way for them. Couple that with control of the Supreme Court and the left is set for the next forty years.

Is this about Trump? If so, it depends which one of his heads he is using at the time when he explodes.
