Do you ever wish what you read/hear/learn would be accompanied by translation/bullsh** detector? Something you could count on?

Would that be cheating? Is not understanding or misunderstanding or getting it all wrong the price you pay for having inadequate mental capacity and/or rigidly dogmatic intractable beliefs?  If you take people/words at face value how often do you get it wrong? It seems to me that the distance between TRUE and FALSE should be very great. But sometimes? It is barely measurable. SIGH. We keep trying though don't we? To actually understand/comprehend/perceive? Why does it matter?
