    It is a civilian gun....not a weapon of war" as has been the term of choice lately. 
    The weapon of war is the M16 that is what the AR15 is styled after they are not the same weapon. The AR is semi auto. The M16 can switched between semi and auto. The location of the firing mechanism is also different. The M16 is a much more powerful weapon than an AR15.
