It is not $1000. It is $150.
And the payroll tax will vary from person to person based on the amount of the paycheck and the persons tax situation. So you have no way of saying it is $1.50.

The entire question is fake news....is this more Russian meddling? Lol

Now the commerce secretary says it is $175.00---So it looks like you are the one providing the fake news.

So you under-reported the amount by 16 and 2/3 %.

That is an unacceptably high error rate. This post was edited by tom jackson at March 9, 2018 8:52 AM MST

No. I made up the numbers m2c. That isn't the point. The point is he does whatever the he** he feels like doing and doesn't have a clue what the ultimate ramifications will be.  My question is valid. He giveth. He taketh away. That is the entire point and once again you missed it.  You can't see the forest because you focused on a single tree. ...the irrelevant tree...the useless tree. Again. SIGH.Thank you for your reply. SIGH SIGH SIGH SIGH SIGH. :(:(:((:(

No m2c. They are not. But it matters not that you didn't get it. It never does. Happy Saturday.

Yes.  I can spend that on one electric and computer bill.  WHoopee.  Too bad my $150 will be -$250 a few years in the future.  If that is all that will be sucked dry by the vampire from hell.

Read Shuhak, below.    Answer Shuhak and explain that you made $150 for surrendering your ability to reason.

Yes, but you forgot to mention that the $1.50 you get is only temporary.  In 4 years taxes will go back up and that +$1.50 will become a -$2.50.

The problem is that none of this hurts Trump.  He doesn't care about paying more for things, as he has money.  The rich only care about making themselves richer - at any cost.  Trump is doing things that benefit Trump, not the rest of us.  I'm still waiting for all these "jobs" he keeps talking about.  The only "jobs" I've seen "increase" are at McDonalds.  Grown adults cannot survive working at McDonalds 20 hours a week for minimum wage - even with Trump's constant business there.  Trump has a strange idea that if he brings back all the jobs they had in the 40's and 50's (coal miners, steelworkers, car manufactures, oil drillers and such) then this country will prosper.  He hasn't a clue that times have changed and some of those jobs are obsolete (or performed by robots).  Even if all these jobs came back, they'd only benefit a small percentage of people (the country's a "tad" more populous now than it was back then).  Worse than that, these types of industries are heavy polluters.  Of course, since Trump doesn't believe in climate change why should he care?
While some of the things Trump spouts about jobs and the economy sound good to many people (especially those out of work or those barely getting by from paycheck to paycheck), the reality of it is that things can't change.  The rich and corporations run this country - and extremely few of us are ever going to be in that elite group.  Only the wealthy can get elected to office ... and once they get there they sure aren't going to give up that wealth for a bunch of sniveling constituents.  It doesn't matter which party is in control (Rep, Dem, Other), they will always do what's best for themselves - and that's make more money.  If by some chance, their making more money for themselves happens to benefit the rest of us, you can be sure they'll quickly find some way of negating it (gas taxes, road fees, environmental fees, etc.).  So enjoy your (fictitious) $1.50 while you can.  There are over 1,000 "lawmakers" (State and D.C.) conniving a way to get it back - with interest.

The jobs are not being done by robots.....they are being done by human workers in other countries all in the name of "free trade". I know where the good manufacturing jobs in my home town went....they went to Mexico. My family had to train the Mexican workers who were replacing them.

    Shuhak,

Have fun.  You may tell me how a  man that cannot even be quoted on here, is allowed to captivate a MONITOR who doesn't even allow this type of nasty on this little site.      She is a Sara Sanders wanna-be.   ANYWAY, SARA?   This is how I feel about TRUMP but I cannot post it.  In his own words about a totally innocent person who was practicing FREE SPEECH to a dictator.

Never been to an auto manufacturing plant, have you.  Much of the word there is now done by robots.  In fact, many manufacturers now use robots in their production lines.  They're safer, faster and cheaper than humans.  Ever seen a video kiosk?  That's not a human renting you video (remember Blockbuster?), but a machine.  Yes, companies still need people to maintain these machines/robots, but far fewer compared to when humans were doing the robots' jobs.
Oh, I agree that much of what we "consume" in this country is made in other countries.  And in the "poorer" countries who can't afford to mechanise, they use human labor, but at a fraction of the cost (who cares if they work 23 hours a day for .10).  That's what we get for catering to the greedy rich of this country.  They want more money and what better way than going to other countries to make things?  (I'm not going to go into unions and such here).  WE (Americans) allowed this to happen (over the years) and now we are paying for it - literally.

Toyota and Mazda are opening a factory in the US that will employ 4000 people....not robots.
That is why the "free trade" deals are a joke. We get messed over. We sell Harleys to EU and they have a 30% tariff and to India they charge a 100% tariff and what do we charge for theirs? 0%.
Yes we did bring this on ourselves by agreeing to such  deals. President Trump is gonna try to fix it. Starting with the tariff on steel.

Amen! It's all a mirage anyway. It's that game where you have to guess which pod the pea is under and the trick is there is no pea. It is palmed all the while you are trying to guess where it is and it will appear (now you see it now you don't) and disappear. The fact is Corporations/banks/etc. were making historic profit BEFORE the dumba** prez signed the crippling tax cut. Now of course it makes all his obscenely cronies even more obscene and wealthy and the little guy once against gets it in the neck or the a** depending on a variety of things. It's all smoke and mirrors meant to convince the gullible that something  good is actually happening for them. The donjohn  is stuck in the 50's and I agree that he wants to go back to there for the economy. He remembers it as being a wonderful time when coal was king and lung disease was just a side effect for losers. He hates losers. He said so. He is ignorant of and oblivious to robots, climate change, technology and the rest of the world. Everything revolves around him and in his insanity he believes he is smarter than everyone and thus whatever he wants to do is the "right" thing. We know he is full of sh** but his adorers believe every word of it. SIGH. Thank you for your reply Shuhak and Happy Saturday m'dear! :)
