Those who spend time, energy, effort, inventiveness on weapons of mass destruction must be very sorry or very proud. What would you be?

Instead of focusing on ways to help one another they devoted their lives to creating ways to destroy. Were they rewarded with feelings of having contributed to the advancement of mankind or punished by regret?

What would I be?  I would not even BE me if I were in that scenario.

So, what is wrong with that presumption in the question?  That it is either one way you describe or the other.  While I agree with you, wholeheartedly, I think there are other things to also consider.  For instance, how about very insecure?  How about a need to self-cenderedly prove to the World (your tiny, narcissistic world) that you are RIGHT?  And your idea of BEING right is to be a dictator.   And you cannot overtly SAY you are claiming dictatorship.   You play at BEING one.  You admire all dictators to the public,  That Chinese Guy du jour, Kim Jong Un and of COURSE Putin.

So, you hang with the Dictators, you are IN the club.  You make deals.  You support them and promise not to say bad things about them.  They, in turn are smarter than you are.  You see?  You don't GET to BE a dictator, unless you know how to claw your way to the top, kill your opponents and relatives and take the chair.

That's how it is done, Donald.  No wonder you are inciting your base to Kill Hillary and lock her up.

Hopefully, it will be you and hopefully, very soon indeed.

Stormy is one stacked babe and doesn't mind advertising it. No wonder doofylucy jumped on that right away! I think it is an either/or Sharon. If you were part of the creation of the Atomic Bomb I think you would either be very proud of it or very despairing of your part in it. I cannot conceive of anyone being unmoved and just considered it to be just another job. I cannot . Perhaps you can. Thank you for your reply and the hot babe graphic. The guys will really appreciate it. I wonder if her very large boobs caused backaches? This post was edited by RosieG at March 18, 2018 9:54 AM MDT

Can be both.  But the fact is that there is as much or more a market for weapons as there is for anything else.  And by catering to that market we earn a living. Which many of us cannot by making pancakes or hugging trees. And the creative people will come on board as well as the salespeople and scientists and you have better and more effective weaponry and that is the way it works. Now in some cases weapons, meant to takes lives, can save lives. But what most people are into is power and so they see gaining weapons as the likeliest way to gain more power in their lives. So if you blame it on those who design and build or sell weapons that is not getting to the heart of the matter - which is why people don't find alternative ways to feeling powerful other than blowing other people away.
