Evangelicals will always be remembered for supporting DonaldJohnTrump, an evil immoral human being. How do they justify that to GOD?

On second  thought mebbe they won't have to do so. Maybe GOD already has them written down IN INK for eternity in "the other place". If so they will dodge that bullet. As for their eternal rest? Mebbe it won't be so peaceful.

How many times must we answer this question?
Policies that President Trump supports are why we support him.

    Pro life...laws and judges
    Support Israel
    Supports Religious Freedom
    Etc.
It is not about personal actions....it is policies.

So, you would be indifferent to any potential sexual infidelities of your husband as long as he continued to continue the policies you and he both agree on?

After all, he's still be your husband and you chose him to be that.

Or do you think such personal behavior might be a red flag about what may be coming next?

Nope, not apples to apples. My husband is more than just a policy person. It is a personal intimate relationship. And one of the policies we agree with is being faithful to each other.
I have no personal intimate relationship with Trump or anyone else.
Would I fire an employee if they cheated on their spouse but did a good job at work? No, I would not as long as they continued to do a good job...their employment would be secure. This post was edited by my2cents at March 26, 2018 7:02 PM MDT

Did you castigate/vilify Bill Clinton for his Monica Lewinsky and blue dress and cigar or did you support him and say that his  sex life was of no concern to you?  Would you go to bat for a Democrat's personal perverted sex life as you go to bat for your doofylucy Republican? Truthfully? You are under oath here and subject to imprisonment. You know you wouldn't. You know you would pile on and get all self-righteousy and preachy and judgmentally and family firstily about how awful it was. SIGH. Yet  you fancy yourself to be fair I expect. Don't you? Clinton's policies had nothing to do with his sexual perversions just as doofylucy's so-called "policies"( all stolen from Sean Hannity and Fox & Friends folks) have nothing to do with his sexually deviant perverted relationships. You either support neither of them or you support both. You can't have it both ways and be credible. Under oath. Which means you cannot shade it or skew it or deflect or Republicanize it or Partisanize it or divert it or change the subject. WHICH IS IT? What I remember saying about Clinton was that he was stupid enough to get caught in this, what else is he slacking on?
I didn't follow policy much back then...but did vote for him in 1992 (my first and only vote for a Dem) I do remember, listening to Obama campaign on the same stuff Clinton did...about student loans etc.

You maintain that with Trump, only his policy matters, not his sex life.

Since you don't care about his personal ethics, it was logical for me to ask if the same concept applied to your husband.

You reply suggests you don't get the point of my inquiry---which is whether you understand the importance of considering the philosophical and ethical beliefs of a man you elect to a political office.

Your comment of "nope, not apples to apples" suggests that you do not.

One's judgment is only as good as one's information.

You seem to know what you like and don't like.

My concern is whether your likes and dislikes are sufficiently informed as to assure the preservation of our democracy.

When I voted for him, I knew there was a chance he was still that liberal he had been for decades hiding in red elephant clothing. So he might not do as his policy statements claimed he would. Some users here used this uncertainty as a way to try and say I should vote for Hillary or not vote at all. Nonsense, I should at least attempt to get the person who is espousing the policies which I agree with. Rather than voting for or abstaining (also a vote for the oppostion in my opinion) a candidate I already know I disagree with.

And so far I am happy (it is nice to have a politican actually do or attempt to do what he campaigned on)...with policy and appointments. Regardless of tweets and reports of his sex life from 10+ yrs ago.
If I were his wife, I likely would be contemplating divorce. But that is not my place....

The majority of America is also trying their best to get a divorce from Trump as well.

I just wish you could understand why.

Melania may want a divorce based on disgust.

The majority of America understands why remaining married to him is extremely dangerous as well.

    Yes, correct.

I generally prefer exchanges between me and my2cents not be buried as a comment and more easily seen by all members.

What I questioned was that your response  appeared to be an answer to my question and was not positioned as a reply to m2c.  My question should appear directly after what it pertains to but for whatever reason it is positioned after your replies to m2c. I don't under why that is. I'm going to ask. Thank you for your reply and Happy Easter Sunday.

Trump's far from perfect.  I didn't back him in the primary because I wasn't sure he'd make good Judicial choices.  So far, I've been pleasantly surprised.  I KNOW I would have disagreed with Hillary on at least 95% of the issues, so it was an easy decision.

You are a one-issue person then. Judges is it. Judicial appointments. Fair enough. You will be very happy with him because of that and it doesn't matter to you that everything he does will be evil and treasonous.  You will sleep well at night because you have abdicated any responsibility for supporting this monster. Thank you for your reply BR and Happy Thursday. Different strokes for different folks! :)

He hasn't cut the budget as much a I'd like.  He's willing to secure the borders.  He supports Israel.  He's not kissing up to the UN.  He's working to bring higher paying jobs back to the US.

    Far from perfect---absolutely.

    Far from acceptable---absolutely as well.

An error in one direction does not imply there is no error in the opposite direction.

  • Who knows? Maybe they'll be remembered for stemming the tide of atheistic, immoral, corrupt, dishonest leftist socialism. As for some attempt at justification, I think I'd be a little more concerned about finding a defense for the hatred, bitterness, resentment, defamation and rage leveled at the current administration by the left. An uncontrolled tongue is just as capable of moving one, if you'll pardon the expression, from the frying pan into the fire, to coin a phrase.

Do you really believe that every adjective you use is applicable to the subject you wish to modify?

I have read that doctors prescribe antibiotics for children with the assumption that they will actually meaningfully ingest at least 30% of the dosage.

Do you prescribe your answers with a similar approach?

Well its you who thinks that we somehow must "justify" that to God - we think no such thing.  We can only look to God, to Jesus Christ, to justify us.

SAY WHAT? Are you SERIOUS? "We can only look to God, to Jesus Christ, to justify us"? So They are responsible for everything you say and do and they have to JUSTIFY you?
