This question is through the courtesy of a Mugger pal. Make guns unaffordable. Have the gubment put a "death tax" on them. Would that work?

Of course the gubment would have to be sane like the one the Aussies have. Don't restrict the purchase. Just make guns outrageously expensive. Instead of costing a coupla hundred bucks they could cost tens of thousands of dollars EACH. The gubment collects the taxes. The obscenely wealthy buy all the guns. The rest of the folks learn to live gun-free.
