The more we investigate/research to find the truth the fewer heroes/icons/good folks there are. Do we need to draw the line somewhere?

Or do we continue on the path to finding truth no matter what the cost and find all we have left behind us are fallen idols? Do we need heroes? Do we need to believe in someone sometime somewhere or is that just for children? The more I learn the sadder I get. :(
