Even seen a MOVADO watch? There is one in a museum. Breathtakingly beautiful. I think Rolex watches are not so pretty. Do you like 'em?

They're made of steel and look very masculine even if they are diamond studded and encrusted with other precious jewels. I know they reek of wealth and are very expensive but do you think people actually wear them because they think the watches are beautiful or because they are flaunting/advertising how rich they are and their wealth? Would you own a Rolex if you could afford it? Ever seen a Movado? Inquiring minds wanna know these things!  :)

I have never heard of the brand. I'm not a zillionaire. I'm too lazy to look it up.

I have one. I bought it years ago in Cabazon, an outlet mall nearby. At the time it was a $1000 watch which I bought for $500. That was maybe 25 years ago. I shall describe it simply because it is a simple. An all black face with a black metal expandable "strap". No number on the face. A gold dot is at the top. There is no second hand. Just two gold "hands". I expect if you're not too lazy to Google "Movado Museum Watch" a picture of it will come up. I will do that and see.  Yep I did and there are plenty of photos for you to see what I mean. But if you are too lazy to do that and you have a good imagination perhaps the breadcrumbs I dropped wordwise were sufficient. Thank you for your response  Ele. I find great beauty in simplicity. Sleek lines. No gingerbread. This post was edited by RosieG at April 8, 2018 7:03 AM MDT

I like your taste m'dear...ESPECIALLY the "beautiful woman OF MY AGE GROUP" part. Nice. Our 56-year-old son is engaged to a lovely woman who just celebrated her 50th birthday! Second marriage for both. He looks about 40. No kidding. He dated lots of gals and chose someone near his own age. You don't know how much I admire that Ele. Seeing beauty in those "of a certain age" takes a good eye and character and a loving spirit. Thank you for your reply! :)

When I tell others my age, they can't believe it. They think I am ten years younger. I've always had that 'problem', haha.

When I was younger I looked older. My mom said that was a good thing because she said "when you're older you will look younger". I'm 80 and have no wrinkles. Now I have a few sags here and there but I'm told I don't look my age. You mean momma was right about something? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe people are just being very kind. In any case I earned this face. It is free of all cosmetics. I have long hair that is salt-&-pepper I wear back in a clip. I'm not a fancy dame. I keep waiting for it to turn that  beautiful silvery color like Jim's and it is obstinate and refuses. Well in 2008 I was bald after the chemo so I have no complaints!  Jim doesn't look his age either. I think it's because he plays tennis twice a week and golf every Saturday and is down there at the golf course several times a week "practicing". In our retirement community there is a nine-hole golf course two blocks away. It's nice for him. He has his passions and I have mine and we both feel extremely lucky. Thank you for your reply Ele! :)
