How a magic illusion is done.it just takes the fun out of it. We took the kids to the circus years ago and they had a caged tiger. They covered and spun the cage then uncovered and the tiger was gone and a woman was in the cage. I spotted the hidden compartment under the cage and figured out the trick. It was neat to figure it out but it took some of the fun out as well.

Your question reminds me of a song by Toby Keith: I wish I didn't know now, what I didn't know then" about finding out his girlfriend was cheating so he had to end the relationship but he missed her so much that he wished he just didn't know so he could still be with her.

Ain't that the truth. I wouldn't want to know the future, but despite the discomfort of certain truths, I prefer knowing to remaining ignorant.

You and I have something else in common m2c. Years ago when I was still working our bosses took us to Disneyland. They owned 7 McDonald's restaurants so all the office staff plus all the managers and their spouses were invited. Now they had a very good friend who was a big shot at Disneyland. You know there is a restaurant above Pirates of the Caribbean that you access by a plain door. It is not identified. It is reserved for "special" folks. Anyway we had dinner there and then later he accompanied us around for awhile. He said he would tell us HOW the Haunted Mansion illusions are formed. I told him I didn't want to know because it would spoil the fun so I just walked away out of hearing and waited till he had told the others. If you want to know what makes the drum sound as it does cutting it open destroys it. Same thing with knowing how illusions  are done. You destroy them. I am not familiar with the Keith song but it's true that what you don't know can't hurt you. I think all cheating should be revealed however except for one kind. That would be at a funeral telling the wife of the deceased about an affair her husband had for years. That would be unconscionable and cruel. Other than that I think folks should know. Thank you for your reply m2c!  I think we are much more alike than not. It's just our politics and that is not all we are!  :) ((hugs))

I would say I do too with a caveat. If the truth serves no purpose and all it does is hurt you then I think  I wouldn't want to know. For example. Telling a widow at her husband's funeral about an affair he had for years about which she didn't know would serve no substantive purpose. It would destroy her memories and make the rest of her life sadder. What's the point of doing that to anyone? Thank you for your reply FNR! :)
