Do the standards you set for yourself apply to others too or are they different? How?

They're different: I hold myself to impossible standards, and for those in my life, only near-impossible.

Truthfully though, I think everyone thinks of themselves differently than others. Most would probably think less of themselves than other people... Or the total opposite--as if they're better--which is even worse. I don't know. Not everything is easily defined, I understand. This is just another one of those things that varies so much person-to-person... I am rambling now, but maybe you got my perspective. I'm tired.

I think you are pondering, conjecturing, contemplating, considering. None of which is rambling to me.  I think people are either too hard on themselves or too easy. I'm not sure where "balanced" is exactly..or "just right". But I'd far rather be in the company of those who don't see themselves as something special than in the company of those who think they are. I can take humble and humility.  I cannot stomach arrogance and conceit. Thank you for your reply lovely! I hope you got some rest. Being tired is very enervating.  :)

    I live my life
    You live yours
I do not try to control anyone's life
    But if someone
    Asks for direction
    I will help
