The bar is as low as a bar can go. It is "our new normal". That's why idiots succeed and lead. SIGH. Wonder why the good things are antiquated and the crap gets stronger and stronger?

  • Then we obviously can blame the false notion that was started here which implies that "everybody is a winner", and nobody is exceptional. Somebody decided that our culture was dead wrong to reward hard work, ability and excellence. Mediocrity was applauded and reinforced, while those who sought a higher level were derided. Testing and grading in schools were said to be detrimental to development, while true development was discouraged and held back in favor of those that refused to apply themselves. Plainly put, we began rewarding failure and laziness long ago and you wonder why there's a problem. As the twig is bent, so grows the tree. We now have adult "trees" in the "forest" that truly believe that to be exceptional is wrong and all one needs to do to stand out, is show up.
