Of course you cannot erase the past. But you don't have to celebrate/venerate/exalt/memorialize the ugly part of it. Right?

An Alabama Governor wants to LEGALLY protect all the statues of all the Racist "heroes" of the Civil War. They represent slavery which is why the south fought a war with the north. She says it is part of their heritage/history and cannot be erased. Agreed. But creating legislation to PRESERVE the monuments/statues to the racist part of that history in the south? Do you think that is a good fight? Why?
