When movies are made from favorite novels and they don't stick to them does it anger you? Why make the movie in the first place?

Any examples you can share?

It doesn't anger me, but it is annoying. The movie, The Sum of All Fears (Tom Clancy), only followed the novel plot in a few places. Very disappointing.

Me too Ele. Especially if the book is 'beloved" or a favorite. Sometimes characters are collapsed into a homogenous porridge. Things are enhanced or created out of nothing just to jazz it up and make it 'sexy'. For folks who haven't read the books it wouldn't matter at all. That is when ignorance is truly bliss because when you don't know what you missed you are content. Thank you for your reply! :)
